Frankenstein

Karloff monster classic to finally escape Artbox' drawing boards

April 13, 2006

Frankenstein, a proposed 72-card base set by Artbox Entertainment that had been delayed since last September should ship into the hobby in June, according to Mike Simon, company vice president.

The complete Frankenstein product will include sketch cards contributed by 11 artists, a minimum of four unique Boris Karloff cut signature cards and a limited number of rare prop cards.

The artifact used in Artbox's prop card is a length of electrical cable used on-set during the laboratory scenes of the 1931 film.

Artbox will also manufacture Film Cards that contain individual frames of a 1957 Castle Films 16 millimeter print of the Karloff-starring production.

Individual boxes of Frankenstein will contain one of a set of eight toy figurines.  Four of the three-inch tall figures are glow-in-the-dark.

Simon mentioned Frankenstein's total print run will be limited to 3,000 boxes.
